The Toronto Urban Film Festival received a remarkable 242 submissions this year, coming in from across North America, as well as from Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Spain and Japan. Finalists will be announced in early August. This year's jurors are Richard Fung (Urban Growth), Judy Gladstone (Urban Encounters), Michelle Jacques (Urban Secrets), Deirdre Logue (Urban Imaginary), Brenda Longfellow (Urban Natural), Robert Ouellette (Urban Travels) and Jason St-Laurent (Urban Fears). Our guest judge -- Mark McKinney (from Kids in the Hall) will be selecting the top three winners, with the general public voting for the TUFF Choice Award and the Viewer's Choice program, screening on the final day of the festival. The Toronto Urban Film Festival - the festival for commuters, runs September 5 - 12, 2008 on over 250 ONESTOP platform screens throughout the TTC. TUFF films are viewed by an audience of millions -- and loved by everyone.
