Toronto Urban Film Festival

Daydream is a film about the little crushes that live and die in the moments during the day to day routine of city life. It's a very difficult thing to make an absolutely silent film, sound is very important because of it's emotive powers, even if it's the clack of a Super 8 projector or the piano accompaniment of a silent film. I set my film in a subway station because I thought it would be fun to use the actual ambiance to inform the film. I also decided to add a sense of rhythm and melody using the visuals to try and make the eyes 'hear' the film.
